Flour-based, dry, cajun seasoned gumbo starter. Just add 1/2 cup of oil to about 2 cups of seasoned dry-base, and stir over medium heat to make this flavorful roux.
Each 32 oz package makes approximately 2 gallons of gumbo.
This was originally formulated for the intermediate to advanced cook who is making gumbo for the first time or who wants to reduce the amount of time it takes to cook their roux, and it still be homemade and authentic.
However, we have discovered that this is a versatile tool that a beginner can use to fry chicken, chops and seafood, as well as, make gravies and thicken stews.
